The peaceful countryside setting makes it easy to slow down, take a breath, and enjoy a proper meal. With a convenient free parking lot right outside, getting there is simple, whether you’re stopping by for a relaxed dinner or just a quick bite after a long day.

Walking into Gasthaus 'zum Stillen Tal', the atmosphere immediately feels comfortable and authentic. The seating area is arranged in a way that encourages guests to settle in and enjoy their time. It’s the type of place where locals gather regularly, and visitors quickly feel like they belong. During my visit, the calm environment paired perfectly with the friendly service, making the overall dining experience feel genuine and unpretentious.

The menu highlights hearty German favorites that focus on traditional flavors and satisfying portions. One dish that instantly stood out was the Bauernsteak. It arrived perfectly cooked, rich in flavor, and served in a generous portion that truly reflects the restaurant’s rustic style. Another highlight was the Pariser Pfeffersteak, which delivered a wonderful balance of tenderness and peppery depth that steak lovers will definitely appreciate.

For guests looking for something equally comforting but slightly lighter, the Schweinelendchen is a great choice. The pork was tender and well-seasoned, pairing nicely with classic side dishes. The Schupfnudeln Mit Gemüse offered a comforting mix of soft potato noodles and fresh vegetables, creating a dish that felt both traditional and satisfying.

Even though Gasthaus 'zum Stillen Tal' is known for its hearty main courses, the experience doesn’t feel complete without dessert. The Gemischtes Eis Mit Sahne provided a refreshing finish to the meal. Simple yet delightful, the creamy ice cream topped with whipped cream added a sweet and relaxed ending to the evening.

The restaurant works especially well for dinner, when the cozy atmosphere really shines. That said, it’s also an excellent option if you’re just stopping by for a quick bite while exploring the surrounding area of Weilbach. Reviews from diners often mention the generous portions and comforting flavors, which match exactly what I experienced during my visit.

Overall, Gasthaus 'zum Stillen Tal' feels like a genuine local dining spot where the focus stays on good food, a welcoming environment, and an easygoing experience. Between the flavorful dishes, convenient location, and relaxed setting, it’s a restaurant that naturally invites guests to come back again.

What customers say?

“ I ate here for the first time today. It's a quiet little restaurant with a small beer garden. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. The service was much faster than you might expect these days. I would definitely recommend it! ”

- Manuel Reuling -

“ Last weekend, we spontaneously stopped for lunch on Sunday afternoon while passing through. The food was excellent, although the schnitzels could have been a bit bigger. The two servers were very friendly, but like many customers before us, we had to wait a long time. It took about 45 minutes for the side salads and over an hour for the two breaded schnitzels. It felt like almost all the other guests had already finished eating (it was already after 2:30 pm). Perhaps we were overlooked because we were seated in the side room. In conclusion: The food quality is good to very good, but be prepared for a wait. ”

“ A great day-trip restaurant in a truly quiet valley. The road ends here; we cycled there. Also ideal for hiking. The food is excellent (schnitzel, roast, snacks), a good Faust beer, and there's a terrace. Service is quick and attentive. The food takes a while, but everything is freshly prepared. It would get 5 stars if the portions were larger. It's still okay for seniors or girls, but men are still hungry after eating. Especially if, like us, they cycled there. ”

- Thomas Imhof -

“ A very nice and cozy inn. The food was excellent; I highly recommend it. The service was also very friendly and always prompt. We're happy to give it 5 stars and are already looking forward to our next visit. ”

- Marco Bohlender -

“ Lovely little beer garden, excellent service... Good, home-style food at reasonable prices. Highly recommended!!! Usually open for lunch during the week, too! ”

- Günter Willi Hüfner -

“ We visit the restaurant four to five times a year, combined with a hike from Weckbach. Good, home-style cooking, friendly service, and a small beer garden—all of this can be found in an idyllic village. Highly recommended. My tip: a Bembel cider with the farmer's steak. ”

- Camino 99 -

“ The "Zum stillen Tal" inn is beautifully and quietly situated. It offers rustic, traditional German cuisine with friendly staff. The beer garden is right next to the road, but who cares? This is the end of the road, and Gönz is just a tiny, tranquil village. The farmer's steak was delicious and plentiful. It's always busy on weekends and quite popular with cyclists. Highly recommended. ”

“ We always went there when we were on holiday in the area. The food is so good. We'd love to go there at least once a month. We hope we can come back again next year. All the best to the team and especially to the owner. ”
